Property Cleaning List

Before vacating a property, we ask our tenants to take some time to clean it. Below is our detailed guidelines for cleaning which may help with the return of your entire damage deposit.

Kitchen

  1. Refrigerator: Clean both inside and outside including racks, drawers, and shelves. Please ensure you clean between the grooves of the rubber seal.
  2. Stove: Clean the hood, control panel, top, burner pans and rings, oven, oven racks and sides.
  3. Pull out the stove and fridge and clean the walls and floor behind these. Please kindly leave both pulled out for inspection.
  4. Cupboards: Clean inside the cupboards and drawers. Cupboard doors should be thoroughly washed.
  5. Dishwasher: Thoroughly wash the dishwasher.
  6. Wash the sink and counter top.
  7. Wash the floor.

Living Room and Bedrooms

  1. Wash the window ledges and ensure they are free of dust and dirt.
  2. Clean and sweep off balcony.
  3. Clean and wash all closet shelves.
  4. Vacuum and shampoo carpets. Please note that portable rental units may not do an adequate job.

Bathroom

  1. Tub and tiles: Thoroughly clean and remove scales.
  2. Toilet: Thoroughly scrubbed inside and out.
  3. Cupboards: Clean inside the cupboards and drawers. Cupboard doors should be thoroughly washed.
  4. Mirrors: Cleaned with no streaks or markings.
  5. Sink: Cleaned with all scale build up removed from taps and surrounding areas.
  6. Wash the floor.

Miscellaneous

  1. Storage rooms left clean and washed.
  2. All window and patio doors to be cleaned inside and out. Please ensure that all tracks and curtain rods are free of dust and dirt.
  3. Wash the linen closet shelves.
  4. Wash walls and baseboards thoroughly.
  5. Wash all light globe covers and replace all burnt out bulbs. Please note that there will be a charge if burnt out bulbs are not replaced.
  6. Vacuum all window and patio ledges.
  7. Dust the tops of all door and window casings.
  8. Wipe all doors clean.
  9. Dry clean draperies.
  10. Remove all trash from the property.

Areas that are often overlooked

  1. Underneath the drop pans on the stove.
  2. Cupboard and closet shelves cleaned.
  3. The floor behind the stove and refrigerator.
  4. The refrigerator rubber seal.
  5. The interior and exterior of cabinet doors.
  6. Light fixtures and light bulb replacement.
  7. Dirt in corners – especially in the kitchen and bathroom.

Any repairs and/or cleaning that is required after you have vacated the property will be charged back to you per your lease agreement.

Carpets and draperies will be cleaned professionally and charged back to you if not properly completed.

Please be reminded that in accordance with your lease agreement, you are required to vacate the property by 12:00 noon on the last day of your tenancy.

Your security deposit will be returned in accordance to the Alberta Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. We will contact you with details of your return.

Please prepare all sets of keys, garage door openers, key fobs and parking passes that you have for your property and leave them on the kitchen counter upon leaving the premises.
